Get Fit For Summer Update!

Hey everyone So a while back I did a post on getting fit for summer and as summer is here now I thought I would update you on how that's going. So to be honest a few days after I posted that I stopped doing everything I had said i was gonna do which wasn't much of a surprise, but I have started over again a few weeks ago and it's going a lot better than I thought it would.

Exercise
So for exercise I used to do the 7 minute workout app everyday but that got a bit boring after a while and I didn't feel it had much of a effect on me. So I now just look on Pinterest as they have so many different ones so you never get bored of the same workout. I also quite like to do a exercise dvd or follow a YouTube video because you can see how to do everything and the person taking the workout also encourages you to keep going.

Food Ok I'm not gonna lie I haven't really changed my eating that much because I don't want to give up all unhealthy foods, but I have stopped snacking in between meals which has really helped. I also try to make healthier food choices which I don't always do!

Skin
I have also been trying to make my skin healthier by only wearing make up when i actually need to. I used to wear make up nearly every day even if i didn't need to but now i only wear a little bit if I'm leaving the house. This has made my skin a lot healthier and this might sound weird but it also feels a lot nicer. I will also occasionally use a face mask.

let me know in the comments your tips for staying healthy!

My travel essentials

hey everyone,

as it is summer, and quite  lot of people travel during the summer I thought I'd do post on my travel essentials for your hand luggage on a plane or anything else really.

So for my bag I have this kinda tie die pink rucksack I think this cost round £15 and is a really good bag.

This first thing I have is a magazine cause I like to have something to read especially on longer journeys.

I then have a notebook and pen in case I need to write anything down or just to doodle in.

I also have some headphones and these are just the normal apple ones. I also have my phone and portable charger. You can get these chargers pretty much anywhere and cost about £3-£5 and they are really useful. I am also taking a pair of sunglasses for when I get off the plane.

Onto make up/ beauty stuff, on the trip I am going on I'm not taking make up in my hand luggage cause it's a long flight and we arrive on the night time, but if I was taking some I would probably just take the collection concealer  along with the Rimmel wake me up concealer, a mascara and a tinted lip balm. I am taking some hand wipes and tissues cause they are really handy to have and also a hand gel.

I am also taking a lip balm and a little moisturizer, as being on a plane for so long can really dry your skin out. I then put all of this in a clear make up bag (mines really dirty!)and you can get these in superdrug, boots etc  for £2-£3.

I normally buy a bottle of water when I get through security for on the plane otherwise when you get to security they will take it off you so always buy your water after security unless its a small bottle!
And thats everything!

let me know in the comments if you are going anywhere over summer and what your essentials would be!

Gooey chocolate brownies

Since it's been the holidays I've had more time to do things that I normally don't have time to do due to school Today I chose to do some baking, i decided to make some lovely gooey chocolate brownies. They turned out so good so I decided to share the recipe I followed.
Recipe
  • 200g Chocolate-(I used milk but dark can be used.)
  • 100g unsalted butter-(make sure it's soft so it's easy to work with)
  • 250g caster sugar
  • 4 large eggs (beat them before adding to mixture)
  • 1tsp vanilla essence
  • 60g plain flour
  • 60g cocoa powder
  • White chocolate chips-no exact measurements
  • Brownie tin or a deep baking tray lined with baking parchment

    • Method
    • Heat the oven to
    • 180°C/350°F/gas 4. Break up the chocolate. Put into a heatproof bowl and melt gently over a pan of boiling water.
    1. Remove the bowl from the heat and leave to cool until needed.
    2. Put the butter and sugar into the bowl of a food mixer and beat until fluffy. Gradually beat in the eggs, beating well after each addition. Beat in the vanilla essence.
    3. Spoon the cooled melted chocolate onto the mixture then mix in thoroughly. Sift the flour and cocoa onto the mixture and gently stir in.
    4. When completely combined spoon the mixture into the prepared tin and spread evenly.
    5. Bake in the oven until firm to the touch but still a bit fudgy. The recipe stated it took theirs 20 mins but mine took around 30-35 mins. The chocolate will continue to cook slightly for a few mins after coming out of the oven.
    6. Remove the tin from the oven and set on a wire cooling rack. Leave to cool(or just eat them straight away!) then enjoy!

Updated Skin care routine!

I done a skin care routine a while back but I've recently added a few new products in. My skins actually been really good at the moment so i thought is share the products I use incase any of you are interested.

I have really sensitive skin so I do need to be careful with the products I use because if I use a product my skin does not agree with it can have a big effect on my skin.
Morning
In the morning I just wash my face using warm water then I wipe my face with my simple sensitive skin wipes.
I then use my simple moisturiser.
Then I'm ready to apply my make-up.

At night I usually use the Micellar cleansing water to remove any makeup but if I'm being lazy I will use a simple sensitive skin face wipe.
I then go in the shower and use the simple face wash.
Once I'm put the shower I pat my face dry and tone my face with the simple toner using a cotton wool pad and massaging it in to my face.
Finally I apply some of the simple light moisturiser~ i love this product because my skin can be quite oily but this doesn't cause it to be any more oily than usual and it leaves it feeling so moisturised.

My skin care is quite simple but I find that this works for my skin so I don't think there is any reasons for me to add more products.

Summer journal~week 1

This week I spent Monday,Wednesday,Thursday and Friday riding and helping at my local stables. I love doing this as it means I'm outside most of the day which is great especially in summer when the weather is better.

On Tuesday I spend the day with my friend and we went out for lunch and watched a film,

On Saturday I spent the day with my family and we went for lunch and went shopping. I picked up some lovely clothes in the summer sales which will be featured in a post soon.

On Sunday I spend the day with a lot of my family and friends at a local event then we had a BBQ.

Summer outfit!

Hey everyone

Seeing as I've already posted a summer makeup look a while ago I thought today I'd do my typical summer outfit for if it was hot day.

So first I will usually wear a pair of plain denim shorts because they go with everything and are really comfy.

I then paired this with a mint green Cami top from Dorothy Perkins this is great because you can dress this top up by adding some jewellery or leaving it as it is for a more casual look.

I then put on this kimono from primark because Britain can be quite cold in the summer so it's good to have something to just throw on with it.

I would then usually wear a pair of white converse or my mint green flats.

Let me know what your summer must have is in the comments!

Uses for old mascara wands!

Lately I've found a few old mascaras lying around and I didn't want to through them out  so I decided to clean the brushes and put them to use.
They were easy enough to clean. All I did was soak them in warm soapy water then dried them and voila a new budget friendly, multi-use tool.

• An eyebrow brush
They are the perfect size and the thicker brushes are especially good for neatening up your eyebrows and combing any straying hairs into place.

•De-clump your eyelashes
Since it no longer has any product on it you can run this over your eyelashes once applying mascara just to take off any excess product and remove big lumps of mascara.

•Exfoliate your lips
Instead of using your fingers to apply exfoliant to your lips this is great as it means your lips will get a much better scrub as well as is being more hygienic (if you've washed your mascara wand properly!).
Just apply your scrub to your lips and rub it in with the brush.

• You could even just use it to replace another wand.
If you have a mascara formula you love but a wand you hate you could just replace it with your old one. Even if it doesn't screw properly into the tube to avoid the mascara drying our keep the wand you don't like in the tube until you need to use it then use the recycled wand.
I've found this very useful as I'm quite fussy  with mascara brushes.

•Comb any stray hairs into place
If you're  out (or even at home) and you don't want to have to redo your hair but a few pieces of hair are sticking up just ruin this brush over and fix them back into place.

Top 3 drugstore lip products!

Recently I have been getting into wearing more lip products so I thought I would do a post on my top 3 favorite drugstore lip products!

My first product would have to be the bourjois lip colour boost crayon . I got this in the colour 03 orange punch but it doesn't come out orange it's kinda more of a coral pink colour and I really like it. This is not a matte product and it looks quite shimmery when it's on but not too shimmery.I really like this because it is really hydrating and moisturizing which is always good in a lip product.

My second favorite is the Dr balm lip balm in 02.This is really good for if you have dry or cracked lips because as it is a lip balm it is really moisturizing but then is slightly tinted so it still adds a bit of colour to your make up look.

My third one is not one you would expect to be in this but it is the Pepsi lip balm and it's the cherry vanilla one. I think this was only £1-£2 which is so good and the colour of this is amazing(which I really didn't expect)! It is just a really nice pink colour but again is really hydrating, it also stays in place for quite a while and smells sooo good.

Let me know in the comments your top drugstore lip products!
