I know this time of the year is meant for Christmas and winter posts however there is something else that takes place at this time of year. Exams. My exams start in January but I'm starting to revise now so I don't get too stressed at the time and so I can have time off at Christmas, because who wants to spent Christmas Day revising?!
I've put together some of my top tips for helping you revise and hopefully passing your exams!!
1- Make a revision timetable.
I did this really helps as I know exactly what I need to revise and when. This also helps me stick to a schedule.
Don't leave it till the week before your exam to revise. Give yourself plenty of time as your exam will be on every topic you've done meaning you may need to go back and revise some old ones!
Everyone always says this but it really does help.
This is really important as nobody can concentrate properly if they've been revising for 2 hours straight! I like to revise for about half an hour to 45 minutes then have a 5 to 10 minute break.
5- Eat well.
By this I don't mean healthy although that might help I'm not sure but don't forget to eat. It's really easy to say I'm to busy to eat lunch or breakfast but, you will be able to concentrate and learn so much better if you've eaten.
6- Get out the house.
Go for a walk or meet with friends. It's important that you get some fresh air and try to relax for a bit so that your not always stressed.
7- Past papers.
These are great for eloping you revise and who knows you might get on of the questions in your exam!
Another thing to do is to time yourself doing past papers
If you have 30 minutes to do the paper for the exam only give yourself 30 minutes to complete the past paper, this will give you an idea of how much time you have or the exam.
8- Find a quite place.
Find a place that's quite so you can revise without distractions.
9- Bright colours.
This personally helps me and it makes revising a bit more fun!
10- Get plenty of sleep.
Especially before the exam make sure you have had enough sleep. You don't want to be falling asleep in the exam!
11- Put your phone away.
Out of sight out of mind. I'm always on my phone and I'm not very good at this one but I need to try harder because it does distract me a lot!
